La
Confederación Latinoamericana y del Caribe
de Trabajadores Estatales envió el pasado lunes una carta a la Community and Public Sector Union/ Civil Service Association (CPSU/CSA), organización
que reúne a los servidores públicos de Australia Occidental, el mayor de los
estados de ese país.

En el mensaje, la
CLATE manifestó su solidaridad con la jornada de protestas que llevaron a
cabo los estatales australianos este martes y los invitó a seguir resistiendo a las
reformas neoliberales. “En América Latina estamos constantemente bajo amenaza,
pero gracias a la resistencia de los trabajadores hemos logrado sobrevivir y
aumentar nuestra capacidad de movilización”, expresa el texto. “Resistir en las
calles es el único camino para que los trabajadores ganemos esta lucha contra
el neoliberalismo”, concluye.

Por su parte, la
CPSU/CSA
agradeció la manifestación de apoyo y solidaridad y llamó a seguir trabajando
juntos por “el progreso de los Servicios Públicos y las mejoras de nuestra
sociedad”.

Dear Comrades,

The Latin American and Caribbean Confederation of
State Workers (CLATE), representing millions of state employees from every
country in Latin America, would like to express its solidarity with the mass
protest that will take place tomorrow in Western
Australia. State employees and public services are at
the centre of the neoliberal economic model, and we cannot allow those reforms
to take place. In Latin America we are
constantly under threat, but it is due to workers resistance that we have
managed to survive and increase our capacity of mobilisation.

Resisting in the streets is the only road for workers
to win this battle against neoliberalism. We cheer for CPSU/CSA on their rally
and we hope to continue working together in this harsh battle we have ahead.
